Out of Time & Space Astrology

Tarot and astrology akin to your gas station now known as GPS and road map. Read Libra first.

Libra/Libra Rising* (Sep 23-Oct 22): You're on a road with heavy-duty Saturn riding shotgun. When ambitious and methodically thinking energy guards you, you question every step you take. Your tarot directs you through the Four of Swords. As you second-guess yourself for the 12th time, this card specks to your unassailable conflict-resolving mind. In any healthy relationship, Mars challenges you to act from your best self-interested position while being aware of how to create mutually satisfying connections (Venus). Here's conflict-averse Saturn's rules for negotiating the best for all your varying relationships: (1) Show up, (2) pay attention, (3) tell the truth and (4) stay unattached to outcome. Respectively, these four rules match up with each element. Fire shows up, earth pays attention; air tells the truth and water remains unattached to outcome. But that does not mean water need not be attached to their intentions. So once your scale-bearer self has spoken truth, the deeper realities are explored in the next sign's message.

Scorpio/Scorpio Rising* (Oct 23-Nov 21): Your Tarot Global Positioning System (TGPS) comes in at Libran's Four of Swords mediating your five cups. After the heady intellectual days of fall's beginning, you are keenly aware of the longer nights and the need for creating fuller relationships. A mature sign, for sure, has your soul harkening for reform, release and rebirth. You can sit in judgment of yourself and everyone else lost in the past joys and upsets like a true (and often painted or masked) sports fanatic. Or you can reform what was lost (probably due to your acting out one extreme or another). Once you recognize where you yearn for rapturous release, you are reborn like the mythical phoenix. Four swords demand a perspective to those other cups (shared feeling states with you and close intimates) that your soul wants you to nurture. Cease any feeling of attachment to your effect on others. To validate such effect is the height of your insecurity, to verify it creates lasting bonds. Without deeper and long lasting bonds, your life amounts to little.

Sagittarius/Sagittarius Rising* (Nov 22-Dec 19): Your Tarot GPS (TGPS) demands that you take swift action on your visions. Through inspired communication that is open, fresh and honest, you can avoid procrastination. While gossip in its best manifestation demonstrates a concern for the missing party, you can show up with confused intentions. Mix it up, but not within. Know yourself. Fire signs earn respect through action. Talk is as cheap as the biblical warning that states, "Faith without works is dead." Use the Four Swords of Libra to cut through your hidden attachments to your past. So what if you were born on the wrong side of the tracks? Locate what equalizes your spirit in the rat race. You have more latent talents than you allow yourself to admit, even to yourself. Look in the mirror. The angel you may be entertaining is being reflected back to you.

Capricorn/Capricorn Rising* (Dec 21-Jan 19): Your Tarot GPS (TGPS) struggles during fall's beginning. You think Librans are too trusting, their mediating expectations that both parties show up and tell the truth is ridiculous. So how many hurts are you carrying still? Your life evolves in direct proportion to how much you've mastered the lesson of your previous sign, Sagittarius. Paying rapt attention to where you have excessive tendencies, be that to status, money, sex or any impermanent earthy concern, makes your character either respected or loathed. You are being charged to create changes in your life that are simultaneously expansive and stable. Symbolically, you are juggling the intuitive and logical, inner and outer experiences. You'll know when to celebrate your growth beyond who or what harmed you.

Aquarius/Aquarius Rising*(Jan 20-Feb 19): You're in your element of air. Air signs (Libra and Gemini, too) receive messages via birds, feathers (yes, feathers) and antennae (some myths state hair as antennae). This time of year manifests the phrase "the more, the merrier," and that includes messages. The Tarot GPS gives your four swords of mediation to work with your already hefty mind. One warning with so much mental power: no arguing for the sake of arguing. You tend to do this because you harbor memory of loss and defeat, not to mention overthinking almost everything. Yes, life cycles, but not everything repeats. With some philosophical tuning, you can move your life in a new direction that is important to you emotionally. As water bearer, you have watch and contain your deeper feelings, but you are not to repress them. To give fear an audience, you limit your opportunities. Just realize and live out how fear keeps you out of the present moment. Keep on telling the truth, and another audience finds you.

Pisces/Pisces Rising (Feb 18-Mar 20): You can randomly overextend yourself for anyone who's in need. Your Tarot GPS gets a major challenge in pointing out your number of faults (real and imagined). Your perfect dream of ultimate connection possibly didn't work out as you wanted. Use the intellectually stimulated four swards to enact a truce with those who ask more from you than they deserve. Remember, a major aspect for your adaptable feeling self is to not be attached to anyone's response to your cessation of giving (or what I called "psychic attending"). In psychic attending, you anticipate what we want, even before we ask. Great to do for infants but not for grown-up folks. You end up resenting psychic attending not returned to you. Now, please revere your higher purposes without being shamed into crossing boundaries you've already set.

Aries/Aries Rising* (Mar 21-Apr 19): Your year is half over. Libran's four swords charge you with the responsibility of balance between what supports your sense of dominion. From the root "domain," dominion represents a stronger imperative of renewing yourself through exhibiting vital and assertive energies. Fire shows up, bold, hot and individualistic. Without the airy detachment of Libra, you easily demonstrate confrontational behaviors, taking everything personally. Recall that this is a mediating time of year, not a lone wolf time. Libran begins the initiation into our communal connections, meaning with whom do I peer? When you begin to mythically believe that you are the penultimate pioneer and no one understands you, you isolate yourself. Use a part of your mind to observe how others have their own domains, too.

Taurus/Taurus Rising* (Apr 20-May 21): Hello, sweet one, you are working out the internal bugs to full self-love and acceptance. Libra's four swords chop away worry regarding health, finances, work or relationships. Your Taurean Tarot GPS is symbolized by five discs, which move at changing any rigidity about what you think you're supposed to be. No matter how stubborn you appear (and are), at times you can accept larger philosophical truths wholesale. When it doesn't affect your personal financial life, you can ignore the intangible realities of goodwill, joy, faith and redemption. To show up in a mediation requires goodwill. Telling the truth brings in faith. Joy demands you pay attention to the other party and how they make you feel gratitude. Everyone's redeemed through no attachment to preordained outcomes. I'm reminded of the "Get Up/Stand Up for Your Rights" a la Peter Tosh shown through the Occupy Wall Street folks around the globe.

Gemini/Gemini Rising* (May 21-Jun 20): An addled mind ... riddled with a nervous condition - isn't it a shame when you bow down to inflexible outmoded concepts of life and love? Starting fall brings some of your best and most playful connections. That's precisely why you've got to let go of your mind hyperactivity, hence the reference to it being addled. It's all about confronting your mental demons traveling on the invisible air of collective thought, smelled but not seen (kudos to Gemini Zachary Quinto for tackling a bad ghost or two, actor who played Mr. Spock came out). Sunshine, albeit an excellent disinfectant, also kisses away any pain. No more wallow time is allowed. Let your mind go. Get in touch with your heart. Turn up those proverbial drama knobs. Let those old, present and potentially future flames see how much heat you'd love to create with them! We may not like to envision older adults having sex, but we know (and hope) they do, so even in a disenfranchised mind, your heart beats and throbs! BTW, the Tarot GPS of the four swords complements your knowledge of what (and who) no longer serves your evolution, so you're a winner when you keep an open mind.

Cancer/Cancer Rising* (Jun 21-July 21): You sense you are on the cusp on a new day. Through the Tarot, you can challenged with the suit of swords. Mentally discriminating, rational and cold - that's not you. You are more the Two of Cups, giving and receiving love, kindness and support. An equal dose of yang outpouring wrapped in a yin energetic package (a balance of male and female). There's love all around you. It is only a matter of letting your heart open. Yes, I know "only" in that light sentence left you flat and cold. With hot Mars in Leo (the sign that supports your self-esteem, if they dismiss you find another Leo) and Venus in Scorpio (the sign that runs your playground of delights), your heart is protected by a gaggle of invisible spirits. Trust the glint in someone's eye or the timbre in their voice. You know who's worthy of your joyous cups, no matter what loss you've experienced. Besides compatible Scorpio begins on Sunday ... more to come, for sure.

Leo/Leo Rising* (July 22-Aug 22): A know-it-all persona happens when you are insecure or did not get enough attention from your father in childhood. You want to be recognized for your unique gifts, seen for how hard you've worked on whatever is important to you. Your Tarot GPS, five wands of fair play and healthy competition, gets mad aid from this week's four swords. You have an unerring ability to know when to retreat and to advance. It can be as simple as when to return a call or text, and when to let folks sweat. Your conflict at present is a certain pushiness, an insistence on having your own way without reflecting on why that may not be so. A "maybe" is not the same as a "no." In your heart's center, you feel as if there is no difference. Some of us may be daunted by your bright presence, like being on the beach in summer without sunscreen. It takes time to absorb your attentions. And we may have other options. I know to the royalty that you are, you believe there are no other options. Think this, but, please, baby, please, do not communicate an excessive belief in your worth. It shows through what actions you take, almost every time.

Virgo/Virgo Rising* (Aug 22-Sept 22): As part of the earthy element of "pay attention" in the mediation time of Libra, you have much on your plate. Constantly seeking perfection of your craft, work and self, your self-critique has to be put to bed. Your Tarot GPS moves you toward a driveaway from excessive physical activity, unless it is tailored to the search for more beauty in your life. At least for the next several days, use this weekend to spontaneously cajole those who have shown a personal interest. Probably a wayward fire sign found under Aries, Leo or Sagittarius. Be careful with the Sag. They challenge your physically precise habits (like cluttering an environment where you ain't having it). No obsessions allowed for any Aries natives. You can court a quietly confident Leo, any day now. These fire-sign folks teach you to show up and act on what you know (or at least strongly suspect) to be true. Rarely does anyone get a job done better than you do. Those who count see your worth (period).
