A bit done with death. I feel this way as I mark four years this Saturday since my father's passing. And I am even more done with the fear of death (his last year he lived this way). Death cannot teach anything when we don't enjoy the life we are living now. The death of Whitney Houston (although not surprising) still affected me. My spiritual self wants to shine more, and it can do this beyond the strict organization of writing messages for each sign every week. As I've said in Capricorn's message two weeks ago, it would be a tragedy to not learn from Ms. Houston's loss. This year, 2012, is about the community. (Personally, I think the Mayans stopped counting, so I have little worry about the world ending.) In the spirit of accessing a more relational dimension, for this year I will be experimenting with new structures of disseminating information. Know that sometimes I will combine your personal message under your sign's element (this week Cancer and Scorpio share one message). I would enjoy any constructive feedback.
I will write this centered around the four elements (fire, earth, air and water). How synchronistic is it that our popular culture has given us five political candidates that span these four elements? Read below to see who is your Pop Culture Energetic Representative (PCER).
Please note: I do not seek to turn this column into a political debate on who's in the bubble (hello, Mr. Maher) and who is not. Actually, I think there's too much money influencing our entire political process (freaking Citizens United decision). I want you to know how each element speaks a different language (as does each candidate).
Because the Sun is moving through the water sign of Pisces, I will begin with this soulful and feeling element.
Pisces, February 19-March 19, adapting feeling
This week's Pop Culture Energetic Representative: Mitt Romney (Pisces)
"Let your will take place on Earth, as it is in heaven" is a common prayer found in the New Testament. What's in the skies ... could it be, planets? Could they represent a higher will in action? I will talk about planetary energies and common-sense connections beyond our political theater. But I will offer a different perspective. Two fish swimming in opposite directions but connected by a single cord is the symbol that represents Pisces. And fish outside of water flop. Our well-known flip-flopper is Piscean Mitt Romney. As an adaptable water sign, you take your shape from the environment in which you find yourself. It can make you seem fake when you do not follow higher principles or guidance. This upcoming week, you have an excellent planetary marker to settle your anxieties into losing your abstractions in order to become more real and accessible. Yours is a transpersonal sign, which means you must learn to be emotionally connected to those beyond your immediate family or clan.
Cancer, June 21-July 22, initiating feeling
Scorpio, October 23-November 21, concentrating feeling
For Cancer and Scorpio, you are learning to value those of your family of origin (especially you, Cancer). When you accept what you were given (or not) in early childhood, you begin to love from an accepting and absolute motive. Scorpio is closer to wanting to ascertain the secrets to life and death, but you, Cancer, have an unerring ability to know how to make everyone around you feel comfortable as they are living. Therefore, approximately three months after Thanksgiving, your soul must initiate scenarios that you "Cherish a Senior." Theoretically, our elders are closer to leaving us on this physical plane. Place a dear price on the time we have left with all those we love, no matter what their age may be. If your elders have aged but without the wisdom, say a prayer, light a candle or anything symbolic that lets their higher selves know you've released them to find their own path. As I am fond of saying, "next life!" When your expansive self becomes aware and you live from the perspective of soul, you can see your relationships throughout the eons. Living unattached to outcome aids in releasing pettiness. More joy is the result.
