Pierced Arrows is a phoenix of a band. Fred and Toody Cole's new band, born of the ashes of the long-lasting underground phenom Dead Moon, proves that they haven't quit on each other or on their own primitive brand of rock and roll. Enlisting Kelly Haliburton on drums, the husband-wife duo continues its tradition of straight-up punk infused with the psychedelic tinges that only two musicians with a telepathic connection can conjure, showing that plain, three-chord songs need not be bubble gum. The Coles have been penning furious and loving anthems since the late '70s, and Pierced Arrows is just another moniker attached to the sound and spirit that have set off teenagers and rebels since the early days of rock. Touring behind last year's Straight to the Heart, this Oregon-based tornado blows in to wreak havoc on Memorial Day.
