College is supposed to be a time to meet new friends and explore new social situations. So it sucks that Lawrence can't seem to support a gay club. "There's been clubs that have come and gone in the past but nothing that seems to last more than six months," says Stefan Vogler, a University of Kansas senior. "So it's nice to have a night where you can have a gathering of gay people in that sort of setting. "Hence, Pride Night -- a weekly queer-friendly party at Wilde's Chateau 24, which satisfies all the usual gay-club needs while offering $2 well drinks. Once a month, the KU group Queers and Allies (for which Vogler is treasurer) co-sponsors the Wednesday night event and provides a theme.
