The
Brookside Art Annual has come a long way in 25 years. Beginning as a collection of paintings in storefront windows, the art fair at 63rd Street and Brookside Boulevard now attracts more than 180 artists from all over the country and approximately 70,000 looky-loos for a weekend of glass, fiber, metal, photography and clay. Among the displays: beer-can sculptures by Sompit Xia of Granite Falls, North Carolina; jewelry made of fossils by Janine DeCresenzo of Philadelphia; and automotive watercolors by Dana Forrester of Independence. Exhibits are open from 5 to 9 p.m. with additional hours on Saturday (10 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Spend more than $500 to earn a $20 gift certificate (or $250 for a $10 gift certificate) from the Brookside Business Association. For more information, see
