Across from Sprint Center, Raglan Road greets its patrons with the smell of whiskey barrels. Everything is imported from Ireland - from the pictures on the wall to the bar stools and the chandeliers. The pubs themed rooms are perfect for private parties, and a huge wraparound patio fills quickly when concerts and events take place across the street. It's both authentic and impressive at the same time - on weekends, though, its best seen early in the evening, before Top 40 cover bands fill the Grand Room and sloshy Power & Light District partiers bump and grind in front of the stage.
This vast, antique-filled, over-the-top Irish saloon reportedly cost a pretty penny to construct, and it shows. Its the fantasy version of a neighborhood Irish pub, with cold ale, excellent fish and chips, burgers, scallops, and Guinness bangers and mash. The menu created by Irish chef Kevin Dundon isnt elaborate, though the presentation of certain dishes is clever and sometimes whimsical (desserts can be too clever for their own good). Its a lively place, and if youre dining in the main room with the tall Corinthian columns, be warned: It can get as noisy as Dublins Connelly Station — Charles Ferruzza
