Real Conversation Pieces

Imagine if the Plaza Art Fair's booths were full of items that would look awful next to your mom's Thomas Kinkade collection. That's the kind of art fair that is Lawrence's annual Bizarre Bazaar. Like that late-summer gathering on the Plaza, the Bazaar is big. But this is chilly November, so the art appreciation happens inside. Hundreds of area artists display and peddle their painted, drawn, sculpted, wearable and weird creations throughout three floors of the Lawrence Arts Center (940 New Hampshire) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Plus: live music and food vendors. Admission is free. See bizbazart.com.— Crystal K. Wiebe
