Moments before taking the stage, Chris Daughtry notices a somewhat familiar-looking woman calling out to him. "It's so good to see you," she says as she approaches.
"Oh, hey, uh, you," Daughtry tentatively replies, none too suavely, struggling to put a name to her face.
"Chris, it's me. Kat. You know, 'McPheever!'" cries Katharine McPhee. Breaking a futile pause for recognition, she nervously adds, "We were on season five of Idol together. I, um, came in second."
At last making the connection, fourth-place finisher Daughtry looks away and says coolly, "Right. Yeah. It's been awhile."
Playfully hitting his shoulder, McPhee makes an attempt at conversation, "So, what have you been up to?"
Daughtry answers, "I sold 2 million records." An awkward silence follows. "So I have to go rock now," he says casually and turns to walk toward the sounds of cheering fans. A realization suddenly hits him, and he stops and asks, "Say, you're here why exactly?"

have you met him? cause i have, and he treats absolute strangers with more respect than you SUPPOSE that he would treat mcphee. he was very kind and respectful both times i met him. he was not in a hurry, not rushing, not dismissive, and very humble. iknow you will write what people are going to read, but wow...you could not be more wrong about this guy.
I really think that you should put that THIS NEVER HAPPENED this is just your dumb mind thinking of crap that you think should happen! Chris is not like that at all. People reading this may think that Chris is rude because they do not know this is fiction!!
Well, I think you got just what you wanted - your imaginary DAUGHTRY/McPHEE encounter has folks who did not quite read all the words up in arms. Those of us who did read all the words feel that the disclaimer "PURE & UTTER NONSENSICAL FICTION" should have been the header. Even in commenting I am pandering to your ego - so I will stop now.
