Retro Downtown Drinks and Dance apparently is betting that people want a drinking spot without any of the following: cheap PBR, strippers, loud indie rock or french fries. This bar at 15th Street and McGee (basically between downtown and the Crossroads District) has only premium beers on tap and call liquor in the well; there’s nothing to soak up liquor but cocktail olives. Patrons can make cell-phone calls in old-timey phone booths or watch Elvis-impersonator karaoke. A perfect place for City Hall types, lawyers, and young women looking for sugar daddies, Retro has a raised dance floor next to a large digital reconstruction of the Lennon Wall in Prague - a reminder of the good ol' days when graffiti and Western pop music were subversive.
