Rexrospective

Scott Hobart is one of Kansas City music's most consistently badass dudes. In the '90s, as singer and guitarist for the post-hardcore band Giants Chair, he wrote songs that were pummeling and complex. Then, like the Nutty Professor discovering flubber, Hobart went in an insanely different direction, taking giant steps as the heavy-hearted lamenter in his country outfit, Rex Hobart and the Misery Boys. It's this band's run over the past 10 years that Hobart celebrates Saturday at the Pistol with his Rexrospective "museum exhibition party." According to Hobart, visitors will enjoy things such as "tons of incriminating photos" and "a band of mannequins (unreasonable facsimiles of us) 'playing' along with our recordings," plus memorabilia from various tours and gigs. Get this man a Nudie suit.
