Restaurant Details

The owner of this cozy Kansas barbecue joint is award-winning chef Bob Palmgren, who turned his attention from four-star dining in 2003 and began smoking meats and frying up corn fritters and seasoned french fries. Palmgren’s tender baby-back ribs may be the best you’ll find on the Kansas side of the state line. And this barbecue shack may be the only one in town that offers breakfast, including some damned fine double-smoked bacon, smoked sausages on toast, and biscuits and gravy. — Charles Ferruzza
