i love this place and have been going for over a decade now. me and my co-workers love the food and the people are wonderful. not fake chummy chummy or extra gabby... just friendly and bring you great food... exactly what i expect from a restaurant. i cannot imagine what these other reviewers are talking about. the spring rolls with the peanut sauce are to die for and the chicken vegetable soup is wonderful too!! i always order a number 8 with shrimp, spicy and with extra peanut sauce... never a morsel left behind!

HOMOPHOBE WARNING! The owner of this restaurant is a raging homophobe. I wouldn't have known, except when he dumped a cigarette (half-smoked, still lit) on the sidewalk in front of me as I was walking by, I told him not to litter my neighborhood and to pick up his trash. He became belligerent, and told me to go home and get a man to control me. I told him I was quite happy with my wife. At that point, he blew a fuse. I was succinctly called a "tomboy," told that I was "sick," that I "needed a man," and was informed to "go away or [he'd] call the police." Not even kidding. Right there in front of everyone. BOYCOTT THIS RESTAURANT. We don't need homophobic, hateful bigots like this on 39th Street. We don't need litterbugs either. Oh, the food is mediocre, for what it's worth. You're far better off going a couple of blocks west along 39th street to Vietnam Cafe.

I have been by this place many times. My wife, daughter and I were in the area so we decided to try this place many because it has been around for a long time. Bad choice. The (new owners?) now have the place next door too but instead of a bistro they treat like a fast food asian place. The Vietnamese special soup was terrible. The soup itself was nothing special, had few vegetables or meat. Very disappointing. My wife and daughter both orderd the mixed vegetables and they came out with no sauce, condiments or nothing. The other entrees basicly have meat, seafood or chicken and have their special sauces thrown in. Nothing special, nothing unique. Avoid this place at all costs. Don't waste your money like I did. The Vietnamese ones elsewhere (Westport is so good).
