SAINTS AND SINNERS

Fueled by anger, desire, luck and, ultimately, hubris, one of modern Hollywood's most infamous cautionary tales belongs to bartender-turned-filmmaker Troy Duffy. So thoroughly did the egotistical head-case Duffy piss off every major player and power broker he courted — including Miramax don Harvey Weinstein — that his film The Boondock Saints, about two vigilante Boston Irish brothers, was released in only five American theaters for one week. Despite industry stigma and poor critical reception, however, the film has since acquired a devoted cult following on DVD. At 7:30 p.m., Fathom Events presents The Boondock Saints in a 10th-anniversary event, including a behind-the-scenes retrospective. Six metro theaters — including Cinemark's Palace (526 Nichols Road), AMC Studio 30 (12075 South Strang Line Road in Olathe), and AMC Town Center 20 (11701 Nall in Leawood) — have booked the event. See complete listings and order tickets at ncm.com/fathom.
