Shout at the Devil

It's been about 10 years since Nashville gospel artist Mike Farris found God, but the 2008 Americana Music Award winner has had soul for decades. Last year, his efforts went into an album, The Night the Cumberland Came Alive, that was recorded to raise money for Tennessee flood relief. See him at Knuckleheads Saloon (2715 Rochester, 816-483-1456) when he teams up with the McCrary Sisters to form Mike Farris and the Roseland Rhythm Revue. The Pitch's sister paper the Nashville Scene calls Mike Farris "one contemporary gospel artist who never blurs the message or impact of his music with studio hooks and booming beats." Can't do better than that, right? The Bart Walker Band and Grand Marquis open this 8 p.m. show. Tickets cost $15 and can be bought at the door or at knuckleheadskc.com.
