Has any other band personified "hit it and quit it" better than LCD Soundsystem? Electronic mastermind James Murphy released only three albums but gained universal acclaim in less than 10 years. In February 2011, LCD's website announced that the act would play its final show April 2 at Madison Square Garden. The documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits, which chronicles the band's 48 hours before and after that last hurrah, plays at the Tivoli (4050 Pennsylvania, 816-561-5222) for one night only at 7:30.
