So Reptilian

Are puppies and kitties just too darn fuzzy for you? Consider a lizard. It won't shed little hairs all over your couch, though it might leave its whole skin there. And it won't insist on snuggling up with you on cold winter nights — a heated rock is fine, thanks. Get to know all kinds of lizards, amphibians and other exotic pets during the Kansas City Reptile Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites (8787 Reeder, Overland Park). Numerous pet stores from across the metro will be peddling little creatures and related supplies. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6 to 12, and free for ages 5 and younger. For more information, see kcreptileshow.com or call Go Lizards at 913-422-7489.
Sun., Jan. 18, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sun., March 15; Sun., May 17; Sat., July 11; Sun., July 12; Thu., Aug. 13; Sun., Nov. 8, 2009
