This month’s installment of the Sonic Spectrum Tribute Series happens to fall on organizer Robert Moore’s birthday, and as such, the theme of the evening is shifting from the usual “a bunch of local bands cover one artist” to what Moore is calling “Dealer’s Choice.” He has picked four local acts and supplied each with a list of songs he has always wanted to hear them cover. For example, a band featuring Steve Tulipana, Mark Lowrey, Jeff Harshbarger, Duane Trower and Ryan Shank takes on songs by Bauhaus, Swans, Tom Waits and others. Tiny Horse does some Loretta Lynn and Lucinda Williams. Erik Voeks and His Merry Men try on Split Enz and Guided By Voices. And for Soft Reeds, it’s Bowie, Devo and T. Rex. RecordBar closes at midnight Sundays, which means this show starts early, at 8 p.m.
