Michael Chabon. It's a frequent subject — of speeches and even whole books — for the man who crashed the literary scene with
The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and
Wonder Boys and blew away readers and critics alike with his sprawling epic
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. Hear from Chabon at 7:30 tonight in the ballroom of the Kansas Union (1301 Jayhawk Boulevard, on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence) when he presents his lecture "Conquering the Wilderness: Imaginative Imperialism and the Invasion of Legoland." Given his diverse interests, expect a range of subjects that might move beyond the state of American fiction to cover the upcoming election.
