Supersized Challenge

The Chiefs won't make it to the Super Bowl until at least 2012, but that doesn't mean you're done with football this year. If you feel the urge to compete, the Brooksider (6330 Brookside Plaza, 816-363-4070) is holding its second annual Bellybuster Challenge. Contestants get 17 minutes to down a burger of six quarter-pound patties (with cheese), a pound of fries and a 32-ounce milkshake. The top three finishers win cash prizes. The rest simply contribute the entry fee of $25. Harpo's (4109 Pennsylvania, 816-753-3434) has half-price burgers (and no time limit for finishing them), including the Boulevard Pale Ale Burger with smoked gouda ($4), as well as $3 domestic jumbo draws (22 ounces). And if you're already planning to call in sick tomorrow, then your night should start in the Power & Light District. After the game ends, Tengo Sed Cantina (1323 Walnut, 816-686-7842) is having an after party with $3 wells, $4 calls and $5 bombs. Have fun — just try not to injure yourself.— Jonathan Bender
