Table for 40

Restaurant work being the time-honored occupation of actors between roles, the story line of Becky Mode's Fully Committed — about an unemployed actor working in a four-star boîte of the moment — is no stretch. What is a stretch are the 40 characters played by the actor of this one-man show. Shea Coffman (last seen at the Fishtank in Thrill Me) plays Sam, who answers the reservation line for the Upper East Side hot spot. He also plays the chef, the maître d' and assorted other restaurant staff, plus the socialites, movers and shakers, agents and Midwest businessmen ready to go to any length to get one of the most coveted tables in town. In addition to tonight's 8:30 p.m. performance, the Fishtank (1715 Wyandotte) serves up Fully Committed Thursday-Saturday nights (plus one Monday) through March 19. Tickets cost $15 tickets at Birdies or at the Fishtank. Call 816-809-7110 or see fishtanktheater.com.

Thursdays-Saturdays; Mon., March 14. Starts: March 3. Continues through March 19, 2011
