The Noguchi Sculpture Court, in the Bloch Building of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (4525 Oak), is the largest public exhibit of Isamu Noguchi’s sculptures outside New York and Japan. It’s also one of the most popular stops on the museum’s monthly Tactile Tour, a free program at 10:30 a.m. one Saturday a month for those who are blind or visually impaired. “Participants wear gloves as they touch the art on view in the galleries,” says Helen Meyer, the Nelson’s manager of education volunteers. “Sculpture is highlighted on this tour, and conversations range from materials to subject to artistic elements.” Registration is required, and sighted companions are welcome.
