Charismatic owner Tasso Kalliris has created a raucous party atmosphere for his namesake restaurant: belly dancers, singing musicians, breaking plates, flowing ouzo. On weekends in particular, this dining room can be as noisy and lively as a production number from Zorba the Greek. The food is also excellent - much better than one might expect from a place with so many built-in distractions. If you’re in the mood for theatrics, it’s all good. If you simply want a quiet place to sip Metaxa and enjoy the “Tour of Greece” appetizer plate, dine early or go for lunch. — Charles Ferruzza
