The Beat Drop

DJ Ian Frost moved to Kansas City about a year ago, having previously coordinated shows in Phoenix, Dallas, San Diego and Los Angeles. His friend DJ Kiko DeGallo has been playing records since his high school days in his native Cadiz, Spain. Together, the two new faces bring you Beat Drop, a Friday night outing (except for First Fridays) at Jilly's on Broadway. The two specialize in world beats, a solution of all things foreign and funky — dub, reggae, downtempo, hip-hop, house, Latin, Afrobeat and soul. Says Frost, "We take world beats as a taste of music that's from around the world and from every culture, whether it's sampled or directly driven from the native land of music." If you're a fan of what DJs Fat Sal and Señor Oz used to bring to Jilly's on Thursdays, you'll probably love what Frost and DeGallo offer at Beat Drop.
