MOVING MOUNTAINS(SECOND NATURE)

THE CASKET LOTTERY

MOVING MOUNTAINS(SECOND NATURE)

Confidence and time can make the difference between a merely good band and one that excels. On its second full-length album, The Casket Lottery has grown by leaps and bounds in confidence and has done so in an amazingly short time. While its earlier releases showed amazing potential, Moving Mountains is nothing short of a masterpiece. With songs that flow while remaining diverse enough to stand on their own, Moving Mountains is graceful without losing its bite, touching without being sickeningly sappy, aggressive without being overbearing, and more refreshingly sincere than any album (local or national) in recent memory.

The Casket Lottery writes songs that shift and dance with the listener, combining a prog-rock sense of tempo changes and density with a crystal-clear sense of uplifting pop melody that's reinforced by slick yet subtle production. Lyrically, these tunes are filled with personal awakenings and lines that reflect the group's newfound awareness of life. With Moving Mountains, The Casket Lottery balances a mature mindset with a youthful spirit and provides a collection of focused, intricate compositions strong enough to rock your world and, indeed, move mountains.
