The Go

It's hard to imagine that a band could actually get better after Jack White leaves it, but Detroit's the Go did just that with its 2003 self-titled sophomore release. The group returns next week with its third LP, Howl on the Haunted Beat You Ride, and judging from the first single, "You Go Bangin' On" (streaming on its MySpace page), the garage-rock outfit is spending more time listening to the Beatles than mulling the success of the White Stripes. Head over to the band's official Web site and follow the "Click Me, I'm Irish" link for access to "Invisible Friends," a free MP3 from the album. Afterward, pull up the site's music page to download Supercuts, a collection of demos that are as rough and unpredictable as the establishment for which it's named.
