The Hole Party

Just because Kansas City's Jewish population doesn't celebrate Christmas doesn't mean they don't party. The annual Bagel Bash presents a chance for young people to mingle without having to deal with a bunch of candy canes or Christmas music. (Die, "Jingle Bell Rock," die.) The shindig takes place at small-plate haven Taste (7938 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, 913-766-0320), the music is provided by local cover band Gus, and — as at any good holiday-timed party — the bar is open. There may be no gingerbread men, but kosher options are available. The doors open at 8 p.m. and stay that way until the early hours of Christmas Eve. Tickets cost $20 in advance or $30 at the door. RSVP at jewishkansascity.org. Call 913-327-8112 for more information. — Danny Volin
