The Jeff Scheetz Band

Sunday, December 21, at the Grand Emporium.

You, there. Yeah, you. Ever eaten a dog? No? OK. How 'bout a cat? Never? Not even as a kid? Let me smell your breath. OK, you're clear. Just keep off the pets. Otherwise, there'll be no Jeff Scheetz Band Christmas Concert for the Animals for you, pal. Scheetz and his merry band, along with special guest Boomstick, are suiting up for the season of giving. (Whoever's in charge of introductions damn well better say, "THIS ... is my BOOMSTICK!" or there will be hell to pay. Hell now accepts only MasterCard, chili-cheese enchiritos and portable air-conditioning units.) The night's a winner from every angle. Fans of the Jeff Scheetz Band get a whoppin' earful of bluesy, push-it-to-the-limit rock. Needy animals at Wayside Waifs and the Akita Adoption and Rescue Foundation get the proceeds. The only losers are the cat and dog eaters, and I think I speak for at least five or six folks in the metro area in saying it's about time somebody cracked down on those assholes.
