To the Confusion of Our Enemies is the Riverboat Gamblers' fire-breathing new album, and to the delight of their fans, it rules. Born in Denton, Texas, but now raising hell in Austin, the Gamblers explode onstage with crystal-clear lyrics and ankle-twisting rhythmic changes. Singer Mike Wiebe, who's been known to swing from rafters while howling the band's songs, leads a group of musicians who always have something up their sweat-drenched sleeves — from surprising, Flogging Mollyesque bursts of energy to unexpected, biting, Green Day-like wordplay. Disorderly and dazzling, on any given night the Gamblers will indeed confuse their enemies — at the very least, they'll knock them over with sound.
