A paradise for Parrotheads, Sandbar is where you go to waste away in Margaritaville (with stops in Bahama Mama Town and Slippery Nipple-burg along the way). This beach-bum bastion is the only theme bar in Lawrence, complete with rubber sharks, real fish tanks and a giant tiki mask. The bar even has a “Hurricane Dance,” where patrons wearing grass skirts dance on the bar as a fog machine fills the joint with an artificial storm. If you do hop up on the bar, make sure you haven’t had too many Shark Attacks, Sandbar's signature drink. It’s a pint glass with about five hundred different types of blue alcohol, topped off with a toy shark that vomits red booze. Jimmy Buffet on the jukebox goes without saying.
