The Sumner Story

Sumner High School is the formerly segregated black high school in Kansas City, Kansas. It is now the college-prep oriented Sumner Academy, which is consistently ranked among the best schools in America.

The Sumner Story offers awe-inspiring details about the success of the school. The presenting authors are Wilma Bonner, Eugene Williams, and Johnnieque Blackmon Love – all Sumner High School alumni.

There will be a 6 p.m. reception preceding the Central Library event.
