The Valley Arena

“Paint It Red” by the Valley Arena

Named after a 1954 battle of the French Indochina War in which the French army got massacred, Long Beach, California's the Valley Arena wants to remind listeners not to underestimate the underdog.

Out last year on Anodyne Records, the band's second full-length, Sesso Vita, is a mix of groove-heavy bass lines, thrashing cymbals and penetrating lyrics that have evolved since the band first hooked up five years ago.

With tenacious skills and relentless touring, this three-piece is stealthily moving upward to claim its spot in the postpunk arena.
