Like a peacock feather in the hat of Waldo, the Well is a showy, fine-looking drinking venue with an upstairs deck (lit up nightly with tiki torches), a back patio, sliding garage doors, a private dining room and, amid all of that, lots of seats. The second franchise of the Lewellen brothers (Lews Grill & Bar opened in 2004), the Well seems to be popular with everyone in Waldo: older folks who are there for the reasonably priced food, young bros who roll in for the pub crawls, families dining after soccer games and happy-hour drinkers soaking up the end of the days sun. Its friendly, neighborhoody and not-so-trendy, much like the rest of the 75th and Wornall corridor.
