The Blue Moon Lounge is one of the most appropriately named bars around. It’s connected to the Lunar Bowl in Blue Springs, and in true lounge style, patrons kick back with pitchers of domestic brew to play poker while smoking cigs and cigars. But what makes this bar different – and what truly justifies its name – is the giant, 10-foot-wide blue moon covering most of the ceiling. It’s kitschy, sure, but it's probably as close to space travel as most of us will get. Weekly events include poker tournaments and karaoke, and daily drink specials are available.
