The Cave inside Lawrence’s Oread Hotel isn’t really one club but a subterranean series of “pocket bars” on four different levels. A side door of the limestone hotel leads through the parking garage to the entrance, where patrons descend a black-lighted staircase, then pass a wine bar, a shot bar and a martini bar, finally arriving at the dance floor. As the newest dance club in town, the bar claims to have the best music and the best sound system. The Cave is busier when University of Kansas is in session, but it's open year-round.
