Thick Shakes

Experts disagree about the magnitude of the comedian known as Earthquake, but his stand-up is at least 7.3-ish. He shakes the Kansas City Improv (7260 Northwest 87th Street) for a five-show engagement starting tonight. The former owner of the Stone Mountain Comedy Club in Atlanta, Nathaniel Stroman is a bold, brash and loud proponent of the "it's funny because it's true" theory. His stage antics have landed him in such mainstream projects as Clerks II, Barnyard and the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. He goes on at 8 and 10:30 p.m. tonight, 7 and 10 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. Call the Improv at 816-759-5233 for details.
Fri., March 25, 8 & 10:30 p.m.; Sat., March 26, 7 & 10 p.m.; Sun., March 27, 7 p.m., 2011
