With his smart mixes and charismatic stage persona, the Dutch-born DJ Tiesto has been a pioneer of sorts since kicking off his career in the late '90s. He was the first in his line of work to spin to a large crowd without an opening act, and in 2004 he broke new ground by performing at the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Tiesto is currently on a mostly sold-out tour in support of his latest CD, Kaleidoscope, which follows up on his Grammy-nominated Elements of Life with earth-moving singles such as "I Will Be There." Featuring collaborations with the likes of Nelly Furtado and Canadian pop duo Tegan and Sara, Kaleidoscope is poised to cement Tiesto's career Stateside.
