Tip Your Biker

Lazy downtown loft dwellers and the cubicle-confined can now order those awesome Brick sweet-potato fries for delivery — on two wheels. Local bike fanatic Jason Wingate and a couple of friends recently started Fountain City Courier, a bicycle delivery service. The cyclists are on call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays. The Brick (1727 McGee) is the group’s first client; Wingate hopes that other downtown restaurants will add the service soon. For a $3 delivery charge, the couriers will roll as far north as the river, as far south as 26th Street and east and west between Holmes and Broadway. But those are loosely set borders, Wingate says, especially for big tippers. His best tip so far: some moolah, plus a bag of chocolate. To have your lunch sent to you on a bike, call the Brick at 816-421-1634. For more information, e-mail fountaincitycourier@gmail.com. the Brick
