It's a weird equation, but as inflation squeezes the worth from our wallets, a rich man's words seem to gain value. That's why the $20 ticket is a steal when Tom Bloch interviews his father, Henry Bloch, co-founder of the Kansas City-based tax-preparation company H&R Block, at the headquarters of advertising agency Bernstein-Rein (4600 Madison, 816-756-0640). The price of entry includes a signed copy of Tom Bloch's book, a collection of his dad's wisdom called Many Happy Returns. The father-son talk, hosted by the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, goes from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., but attendees are encouraged to arrive an hour early to network, sip and snack on goodies provided by Succotash. A second networking window, from 8:30 to 9, provides a chance to cop more business cards.
