Twiztid

Sunday, September 28, at the Bottleneck.

Far and away the most popular of the myriad Insane Clown Posse offshoots, Detroit horrorcore rap duo Twiztid is beginning to find an audience of its own. Twiztid has been virtually ignored by credible hip-hop circles, but founders Jamie Madrox and Monoxide Child have impressive mic skills and a ringmaster's knack for spectacle. With its freakish face paint, serial-killer wardrobes and grave-robbing stage antics, Twiztid puts on one of the more entertaining live shows around. The group's juggalo-powered anthems -- "Hound Dogs," "Bagz," "We Don't Die," "I'm Alright" -- might not be well-known to the masses, but fans know every weed-stained syllable and macabre production tic. Pack an umbrella and prepare to watch the Faygo fly when the Motor City carnival of carnage takes over the Bottleneck.
