The VooDoo Lounge, a swanky music club with room for 1,200 people, is just one of the many entertainment spots at Harrah’s Casino in North Kansas City. The VD has brought to the stage diverse national acts such as the Roots and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, popular locals Cherrybomb and Roman Numerals, and celebrity DJs Efran Ramirez (Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite) and AM (who was Nicole Richie’s boyfriend at one point in his storied career). The venue’s balcony holds plush sofas and couches so that patrons can get their lounge on. The ground floor holds intimate tables for two, a VIP lounge and bars on either side of the floor, where flair bartenders serve up pricey drinks à la Tom Cruise in Cocktail -- which can prove either super impressive or bloody annoying, depending how you roll.
