Who Ya Gonna Call?

Kansas City apparently has had plenty of paranormal goings-on through the years. The John Wornall house, Fat Matt's Vortex in Strawberry Hill, and the legendary Fitzpatrick Building on Broadway are just a few places said to be haunted. Enter Rob Garcia, founding member of ELITE Paranormal of Kansas City. "I've always been interested in the paranormal and folklore," he says. "And there are normal, everyday people out there who experience paranormal activity in their homes. They don't know who to turn to and don't want people thinking they're crazy, which is where we come in. We use audio recordings, EMF field readings, photography, remote viewing by psychic medium, and a host of other approaches to investigate supposed paranormal activity." What does all that mean? Get a translation when Garcia and his crew give a "Ghost Hunter Presentation" at RecordBar (1020 Westport Road, 816-753-5207). They discuss evidence and their most interesting cases, starting at 5 p.m. — before the sun goes down.— Lorna Perry
