The original Willies is in Columbia, Missouri, and the more recent Kansas City outpost also pays homage to Mizzou; theres a frat-house flavor to the décor and to a lot of the patrons. Still, the service is attentive, and you can buy an ice-filled bucket with five beers for 15 bucks. The food isnt fancy or fussy its bar fare but much of it is damn good, including the thick burgers, the Philly sandwiches and the supposedly world famous chicken wings. There may be better wings in town, but Willies signature hot sauce is addictively punchy. Bonus: Prices are cheaper than the Power & Light venues across the street, and its often easier to find a parking space. — Charles Ferruzza
