One of the only smoker-friendly entertainment venues left in Johnson County, Aftershock in Merriam has live music four nights a week. Despite its dim interior, Aftershock stays aglow with the house-packing Trampled Under Foot on Tuesdays and a Monday night jam session with Penelope and the Usual Suspects. There’s a game room with pool tables for those who want a break from the music. But thanks to inexpensive drinks and cover charges that rarely exceed $3, a mixed crowd tends to come around eight p.m. to eat dinner and grab the coveted seats by the dance floor.
