The creative team behind The Drop — Eddie Crane, Ernesto Peralta, Jenifer Price and chef Josh Eans — have painted the interior of this Westport storefront a gleaming white and stacked the refrigerators with bottles of imported beer and fancy soda pop. The food menu isn’t elaborate: four salads, 10 burgers and a trio of sides (deep-fried onion rings, fries and sweet-potato fries served in toy shopping carts). But the burgers are superb — particularly the Classic, the blue-cheese-filled Inside Out Burger and the spicy Buffalo Burger. It’s a modern spin on the diner concept, though the only thing resembling dessert is a selection of thick malts and shakes made with Foo’s Fabulous Frozen Custard.

    When I just got to have some beef. These burgers are the best. Tenderloin, ribeye, and New York Strip Steak blended burgers with tasty toppings, sweet potato fries and a Shatto milkshakes are the best. They also have grown-up milkshakes, which I have not tried yet, so this gives me another reason to visit. Located in Westport, with lots of clubs and restaurants close by.

    In an era of Philly cheesestakes molested by the pretentious addition of gruyere and tamales made from fois gras, Blanc achieves a simple yet novel goal; progressing by challenging modern concept yet fully illustrating the timeless quality of the classic American burger. Hip, stylish and encompassing a slight diner feel, Blanc tells a tale of what a burger is and can be. Adhering to the concept that everything on the plate should serve a purpose they pay heed to detail giving respect to even the side pickles which are fresh and vibrant. Food is a culinary documentary of where we are in the evolution of our sustenance and according to Blanc innovation is key.
