Cafe Augusta

12122 W. 87th Street Parkway
Lenexa, KS 66215
913-859-9556
The owners of this endearing little café -- German-born Micheline Burger and her daughter, Mijanou Cackler -- had a vision: to create a European-style bistro that’s a coffee bar in the morning, then serves quiche and pastries and sandwiches later in the afternoon. Things get a little more formal in the evenings, with a few dinner specials (sometimes only one) and table service. Monday night is reserved for German cuisine; on other nights, the menu might include gumbo with shrimp or Moroccan chicken. Desserts are made on the premises and are as delicious as they are pretty. If you want something more potent than coffee with a slice of mocha torte, you should know that only wine and beer are served.
