Hooper's is so run-of-the-mill, it's like slipping on a comfortable shoe. The place is large, with TVs, row upon row of beer taps, and wood everywhere you look. The joint feels like it could be smack in the center of some college town, which makes sense because many of the regulars packing the place each night are in the frat-boy twentysomething range. The food is of the bar variety but earns extra points for creative hot dogs and gut-busting Mexican dishes, which are a treat on Sundays (cheap Mexican beer night, brah!). Wednesdays are an incredible deal, too: All import bottles are just two bucks, which draws a wider variety of clientele that's never too big or rowdy for one of the best teams of cocktail servers in town to handle.
