Fred P. Ott’s is the only bar on the Plaza that doesn’t have custom matchbooks. Which means it doesn’t really fit in here -- and that makes it cool. The bar is decorated with an assortment of oddball artifacts: wooden angels flanked by miniature chariots, an encased diorama of a mansion over the bar. Fred P. Ott’s fills the city’s post-weekend live-music void with performances every Sunday and Monday night. Plaza restaurant waitstaffers make up the majority here; they come to chain-smoke and commiserate about customers who don’t leave tips on $75 tabs.
