If a saloon has aspirations to be something more than a dark, cozy venue for sipping cocktails and smoking cigarettes, it needs to take that extra step in the culinary department. The owners of One80 (who also operate McCoys Public House across the street) have put their own spin on the tapas concept, offering a tasty mix of familiar bistro fare (steak and frites, French onion soup, steamed mussels) with offbeat innovations such as goat-cheese truffles and prosciutto-wrapped almond-stuffed dates. The menu isnt extensive, but it ambitiously roams the culinary map — Greek saganaki, eggplant strata, a top-notch Monte Cristo sandwich. Even the all-American greasy miniature slider cheeseburger gets a classy presentation here as the Double B: two black-angus beef patties and cheese stacked between toasted English muffins. - Charles Ferruzza
I wouldn't recommend really anything here. When we were seated we were greeted by a friendly server and we ordered drinks - a Moscow Mule for me and a Bomb Pop martini for my wife. I think they forgot the alcohol in both of our drinks - mine tasted like watered down ginger ale and hers tasted like Kool-Aid. We wanted to try everything they had, because the menu looked so good, so we ordered several items: the sliders, the carpaccio, the lobster ravioli, and the Gorgonzola cheese fries. The Gorgonzola cheese fries would have been very good if the fries were crispy - they were not. We ultimately had to eat this dish with a fork. All in all, though, a moderately successful dish. The carpaccio was a completely different story; I cannot believe this is even passed off as carpaccio by this restaurant - it is nothing more than rare pieces of roast beef. The flavor was just off-putting, and they dabbed mustard around the plate that made it worse. The only saving grace for this dish was the salad of micro greens that accompanied the carpaccio. Terrible dish. The sliders were also a disaster - they tasted exactly like McDonald's, but on an English Muffin, which basically made them breakfast cheeseburgers from McDonald's. I wouldn't wish these upon my worst enemy. The lobster ravioli was a mixed dish. One bite it seemed OK, and the next quite awkward. The accompanying romescu was good, the breading on the ravioli was well seasoned and crisp, but the flavor I was getting from inside wasn't particularly lobster-y (pardon the expression...), and the bright orange interior only made it worse. We didn't finish this dish either. All in all, one of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant in Kansas City.
Let's be honest. It's a bar. A bar in westport. But as far as that goes, The food at One80 is as good or better than most restaurants in this city. Atmoshpere is good, nothing fancy or pretentious, but cool. Their flatbreads are good. They have a great gnochi. No complaints.

Overall:
Food is very good. Great for brunch or lunch mid week if your able to. I had grandma's french toast for brunch and it's the best french toast I've ever had. The goat cheese truffles they have is very good. And I was suprised to actually like their stuffed dates. As for the dinner I had there...for a friday night, it's way way to busy for a tiny place and the waiter took forever to take our order even when he wasn't busy. I ordered creme brulee for desert. They brought it out and it looked dark but thought it was the lighting. It was burnt on top. When I asked for another one because it was charred he looked at me like I was crazy and about said something. I told him "okey, I know it's supposed to be torched on top...but this is charred, it tastes burnt" He got me a new one and it was much better. Overall, I really would rather come here during the day for lunch and brunch specials when I get the chance. The waiteresses in the day are much better.
