The phrase Velvet Room evokes a swanky and elitist type of haunt, but Raoul’s actually has a more laid-back vibe. Knowledgeable and crisply dressed bartenders mix drinks for a crowd that is a virtual cross-section of Overland Park. You’ll find soccer moms celebrating the big 4-0, drunk sorority sisters in silk halter tops grinding against strangers, and older, sharp-dressed men sipping scotch. Raoul’s offers live entertainment throughout the week, including DJs, acoustic singer-songwriters and party bands on the weekends. We’ve also heard they cook up a mean steak.
