The Granada

The Granada was built in the 1930s as a movie theater, but now it often features the biggest-name bands to come through Lawrence -- Weezer, John Mayer, Tech N9ne. On off nights, patrons sip cocktails in the Aqua lounge as a DJ spins retro, hip-hop and techno. The main room is equipped with an additional bar and a few pool tables. There’s plenty of space to maneuver here, but seating is limited. The mezzanine offers seclusion and a fine view of the stage, but on concert nights, these seats tend to fill up fast. It’s not hard to stay in the know at The Granada – fliers for upcoming shows cover most of the wall space in the lobby. The box office is open from noon to 5 p.m. daily.
